  • July 26, 2017 Global Leader 4 (4th Lecture)
    On July 26, 2017, the fourth lecture of Global Leader 4 was given by Dr. Mariko TAKAHASHI, Cosmos Navigator, Representative Director of the Hoshitsumugino-mura entitled 'The Current View of the Universe for Well-Being’ at Daiko Campus. Dr. TAKAHASHI introduced us to one of her current activities, Byouin-ga-Planetarium (Hospital Planetarium), with a brief demonstration. During the group work session students discussed the connections between their own dreams, happiness and future career plans. Dr. TAKAHASHI highlighted she believes that feeling the vastness of the universe through seeing stars and thinking about our own existence in a complex society, will guide us to obtaining a broad perspective to achieve our own well-being.   • 12. July. 2017 Well-being Special Lectures for Overseas Training Program 2 Malaysia
    Special lecture for Oversea Training Program (Malaysia) has been held at Bld. EDU. E-seminar room in Wednesday, 12. July. Lecturer was Dr. Ridzwan (Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia) and the title for the lecture was "Development in Malaysia and Its Influence to Social Life: Cameron Highland as a Study". Mainly among students who will participate to this training to Malaysia, they had active discussion with Dr. Ridzwan about the topics he presented.

  • 10-11. June 2017 The 3rd Annual Open Dialogue between Six Universities
    The 3rd Annual Open Dialogue between Six Universities has been held in 10-11. June 2017 at Doshisha University. This Open Dialogue was hosted by Organization for Advanced Research and Education (Global Resource Management (GRM) Program), Doshisha University, and each leading programs from Osaka University, Tokyo University, Kanazawa University, Hiroshima University and Nagoya University has joined. Previous the event, special lecture that titled "Why couldn't the world solve the worst humanitarian crisis?" was held by Prof. Naito Masanori, Graduate School of Global Studies/GRM program coordinator, Doshisha University. Following the keynote speeches and poster session, students got group work under the title "what is interdisciplinary" and its achievement was presented on the next day with active discussion.   • June 7. 2017 Global Leader 2 (2nd Lecture)_Dr. Rintaro MORI
    On May 7, 2017, as the second lecture of the global reader 2, Dr. Rintaro MORI, Director of the Department of Health Policy, National Center for Child Health and Development has given lecture on 'Sustainable healthcare system: the role of women and the role of leaders' at Tsurumai Campus. Dr. Mori introduced us about Japan’s health care system and its problems from a view point of sustainability. Dr. Mori also introduced some methods and ideas to make health system being sustainable. In the group work, students discussed women's role for achieving sustainable development. Dr. Mori highlighted how women important for decision making process for achieving sustainable development.   • May 25-26, 2017 Gender Summit 10 (Tokyo)
    The Gender Summit 10 with the theme of “Better Science and Innovation through Gender, Diversity and Inclusive Engagement” was held in Tokyo on May 25 and 26, 2017. The Gender Summit is started by initiative of the EU Commission serving as an international movement to discuss science and gender. As the first Gender Summit to be held in Japan, this summit focuses on the following four aspect: History and Future of Gender and Diversity, Female Researchers Tackling Global Serious Issues, Gender-based Research and Innovation and Social Responsibilities of Science. A broad participation from academia, international organizations, national governments and industry was achieved. With the objective of fostering female leaders, the Well-being Program dispatched 3 students and 4 faculty members as representatives to participate in the booth exhibition and poster session. In the poster session, students introduced the characteristics of the program, curriculum and other activities provided by the program. In addition, students participated actively in the discussions on gender-related topics with the participants from various organizations, through which, students’ understanding on gender issues has been significantly deepened.

  • May 31, 2017 Global Leader 4 (2nd Lecture)
    On 31st of May, 2017, Ms. Tomoko SHIBAO, Senior Advisor of the Asia-Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO (ACCU) and Deputy Director, ESD Activity Support Center has given lecture as the second lecture of the Global Leader 4 at Bld. EDU, E-seminar room. The tile was “Leadership for building sustainable societies", and she gave talk about sustainability and leaderships with reference to her experiences of ACCU for natural disaster and international cooperation.
  • May 24, 2017 Global Leader 4 (1st Lecture)_Dr. Thein Thein Htay
    Dr. Thein Thein (Former Deputy Minister for Health, Myanmar) introduced the Sustainable Development Goals which includes a set of 17 goals to be achieved worldwide. She mainly focused on the Goal 5 targeting Gender Equality and Women and Girls Empowerment. Participants also learned the important concepts and differences of equality and equity. After the lecture, a student asked about the current challenges on gender issues in Myanmar and Dr. Thein Thein shared her personal experience. After the first session, Dr. Thein Thein introduced a facilitating technique “Participlan” which is most useful for small group discussions with very limited time.   • May 11, 2017 Well-being Special Lectures for Overseas Training Program 2 in the Thailand
  • April 13 & 15, 2017 Recruiting fair at Daiko Campus (Day1 & 2)
    On-campus recruiting fair was held at Daiko campus on 13 & 15 April, 2017. This academic year, faculty-based recruiting fair was held twice and totally 11 graduate students joined which is almost double the number of the previous year.

  • April 13, 2017 Post-fieldwork Presentation (Overseas Training Program) at Daiko campus
    Three Well-being students participated in Overseas Training Program 1 in last January and February introduced their personal goals and objectives they set before the departure and presented the insights and knowledge that they could gain in each destination country. This “side event” was provided for promoting the Well-being program and calling more applicants at Daiko campus. The number of participants was around 20. After the presentations, we could also have active discussions with participants. Photo Gallery
